It has been just over eight months since I added a pen to my collection. It is a long way from the early days when I was averaging a new pen every ten days! Why? A couple of reasons. My tastes are more expensive now and the Australian dollar is a shadow of former self.
Well this week I broke the drought and took delivery of the 92nd pen into my collection - the Pelikan M805 Black/Blue Striated.
The previous owner is the famous Pen Economist who made comment on twitter that he preferred to use a Pilot Pera to this pen. Not surprisingly he subsequently offered it up for sale. I have being eyeing off these Black-Blue-Silver pens for quite a while thinking I would one day pull the trigger on the M605 version. But I knew I had to have this pen, if only to give it a home where it is loved. :)
This is one classy looking pen - Black/Blue striped, silver trimmed rather than gold, and shiny two-toned 18K Broad with juicy flow.
I teamed this combination with my initial use of the Montblanc Meisterstück Blue Hour Twilight Blue (to use its full title), first impressions are good, some shading, nice range of tones, and great flow - another good ink from Montblanc.
